HOW IT WORKS

The entire recruiting process—especially for baseball players—is long and sometimes confusing. Here is some basic information you need to know.

Scholarships for NCAA Division I baseball.  Teams are allowed a maximum 35 roster spots per year. There's a projected 11.7 full scholarships available for fully funded programs. Basic math indicates that not every D-I baseball player will receive a full ride.

The good news is there are other NCAA divisions  such as II, III, NAIA, and JUCO's in which some can potentially offer scholarship dollars to help out the cost to attend mostly in DI and DII.  I am a firm believer in Academics first and foremost.  The reason is that considering athletic scholarships can be scarce, it is essential for the player to excel in school to obtain academic scholarship dollars to help offset the cost.  At Capstone it is our mission to find you the best offer and the best "Fit" communicating with the colleges on your behalf.

Exposure is the key to showcasing your skills in front of the scouts and coaches.

To showcase your skills it is imperative to attend as many showcases as possible.  These include College camps, clinics, and major tournaments where scouts will be present.  If you are invited to tryout for a MLB summer scout team I highly recommend you accept.  This will be a tremendous boost for your exposure and will look good on your resume.

As I mentioned, try to attend as many national showcases, tournaments with reputable organizations such as Perfect Game, USA Nationals, and other prestigous events.  Some of my former players were exposed at the highest level and have gone on to become successful college athletes.
